Rachel being told she’s wrong to state a fact that women make 0.77 on the dollar compared to men, is absolutely enraging.

This enrages me: When did facts stop being considered facts?

Rachel Maddow owns Republican pundit who says women don’t actually make less money than men.

This was pretty beautiful. (If you’re wondering what the president’s done for equal pay, Lilly Ledbetter can tell you.)

— NPR Morning Edition reports on Nancy Pelosi v. John Boehner re: paying for student loan interest rate bill

Option 1) Pay to keep interest rates where they are by taking money from “slush fund” of health care law that should fund preventive care for women

Option 2) Pay to keep interest rates for student loans through cutting tax breaks for high-earners

Which of these makes more sense?

Rationality is gone from politics and now from policy. This enrages me.

Although Republicans say they support keeping student loan interest rates low, they oppose the tax hike on higher incomes proposed by Democrats to pay for it. Instead, they want to pull money from Obama’s health care programs.

Democrats want to cover the $6 billion cost of keeping interest rates low, at 3.4 percent, by closing a loophole for high-income individuals who file taxes as so-called S corporations. Those earning beyond $200,000 a year, or $250,000 for couples, would have to start reporting some of their profit as income, meaning a tax hike.

This enrages me. We couldn’t ever raise taxes on high earners!! Let’s pay for something necessary by punishing women’s health some more!! Of course!

So enraged.

Rick Santorum JFK speech 'makes me want to throw up'

Apparently Rick Santorum is enraging me today. According to him the separation of church and state is vomit-worthy. Take THAT constitution/founding fathers/supreme court!

Rick Santorum believes wanting access to college education makes Obama a “snob”. Santorum has three degrees. Hypocrisy enrages me.

According to Miss Representation, the organization that launched the [#NotBuyingIt] hashtag, women make up about half of the Super Bowl’s audience and they’re more likely than men to tune in for the ads, rather than the game. Miss Representation notes that while they wield more household purchasing power than their male partners, 90 percent of women think advertisers don’t understand them. Super Bowl ads do an especially good job of missing the point by acting as though dudes are the only ones watching.

Twitter Talks Back to Sexist Super Bowl Ads | Mother Jones

This is largely what confuses me about sexist advertising. When you want someone’s money why would you silence or ignore them?

Super PACs: How many billionaires does it take to buy a presidential election?

Super PACs enrage me. This article is just one example. The problem is if Obama denied Super PAC support, the playing field would be extremely unbalanced, and even if he does take it, it’s still uneven. Super PACs make the playing field uneven for normal humans. The Corporate type humans are doing pretty well though. So. If you’re one of those, then Super PACs are a pretty good deal.

Re: Gay marriage; contraception coverage; health insurance mandate; school prayer; chooseyourtopic; etc.

I am honestly confounded as to why a political party that seems to explain their entire agenda as one of "individual freedom" and "getting the government out of my ___" is so consistently obsessed with changing the laws so that everyone must live the way they think is correct. Individual freedom means letting people choose, means sometimes we won’t agree with the choices others make to live their lives, but legally they must HAVE the choice.

RELIGIOUS FREEDOM means I have the RIGHT to be FREE from YOUR religious rules!! It also means that the power of the church does NOT trump the power of the state, therefore laws can be made that may infringe on the laws of a particular church, however, people still have the FREEDOM to CHOOSE to follow the laws of their own church, should they WANT to do so.

We do not live in a religious theocracy!!!!! Some laws may not conform to your RELIGIOUS IDEAS!!! We are all part of this country, whether we are religious, secular or some mixture of the two. We all have rights. We respect the freedoms of each other. The government does not conform to the laws of the church but to the laws of the people. Get used to it!

Goodness I am enraged.

Even though Roman Catholic bishops and some Catholic institutions have sounded vocal opposition to the law, recent polls, which Obama officials were pointing to on Tuesday, show that a majority of Catholics favor the new contraceptive rule, which Mr. Obama approved in January after heated debate in the White House.

You wouldn’t know this based on ALL of the media coverage/hate-spouting politicians going on about Catholics all hating Obama….

This actually enrages me so much that I don’t want to live in this country anymore. I don’t want to live in a country where children are not taught the truth about their own history and are only made to feel shame that they may look different or have a different background than those they see in their textbooks. I don’t want to live in a country where our difference in background, race, ethnicity and history is not acknowledged and celebrated, but ignored entirely as if it is shameful and wrong.
Nothing good can come of this.
